Complexity consultant
I know that complexity is…well, complex. I know that it requires systems thinking, compassionate nuance and awareness. Lots of it. Of self and everything else.
I know that simplification is the opposite of complexity, not the solution to it.
I know that confidence, competence and clarity are complexity’s playmates. I know that they are also the three keys that inspire exceptional leadership.
I have a successful practice of helping leaders discover and forge their unique confidence, competence and confidence keys, re-igntiting trust in leadership and joy in work.

I think why we’re battling to connect with purpose - and therefore belonging - is because we’re missing the context in our narratives. Context sounds like: why is this happening?
If we understand why, the how and the what and the where quickly follow.
Why takes the work.

contextual leadership consultant
I believe that a leadership practice should be responsive; it should be robust and adaptable enough to adjust to every project and team it serves. It starts to look - and feel - phony if you just do what you did last time.
I believe people should love their work. Why not? We spend most of our waking hours at it.
I believe that we are in the midst of a leadership crisis: that we have dire examples of leadership and no incentive for great leaders to step up. I believe it is a crime to pass the buck onto our younger generations to fix what we are too overwhelmed to confront.
It’s not good enough.
I believe it is time for Gen X to roll up our sleeves, take our children’s hands and grind like our lives depend on it; to lead the charge, to overthrow the conditioned warning of compliance and authority and quite simply, to create the world and the workplace that we protested so hard for in our youth.
And I have a plan….substack.com/katebruce
